Charles Sloat

I knew Chuck at Garfield School and at PHN. I saw him again at Lackland AFB during boot camp and we

got to talk for a while. I tried to see him at his barracks before I was shipping out to California, but was not

aloud to.

Ruth Taylor and her sister Carolyn Sue Taylor (Powers) move from West Virginia to PortHuron. They

both were in are class for there Senior year. I never new them, Till Ruth married my Brother George Sloat in

1970. I can tell you They are very nice People.

Orrin was one of my best friends through our school years.  He was born on the same day I was.  Elementary school, intermediate and high school created a friendship that continued to our seeing the Air Force recruiter together.  I ended up joining three months before him.  We did exchange letters while, while I was at Da Nang and he was at Cam Ranh Bay in Vietnam. The last time I saw him was on the streets of Port Huron after our years of service.  We lost track after I relocated to the DC and Virginia area for work.  

It is sad to hear about the passing of a dear friend.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Charles (Chuck) Sloat

I remember having a few classes with him. The last time I saw him was at Lackland Air force Base TX in

the Summer of 1967 during Basic Training. He was a good Guy. Paryers and good wishes to him and his family.
